Rogier van der Heide

Rogier van der Heide is a Dutch lighting designer and design leader whose career has connected architectural lighting, technology, product development, and human experience. His work spans museums, public spaces, hospitality, retail, infrastructure, and architectural environments, with projects including the Rijksmuseum, California Academy of Sciences, Sheikh Zayed Bridge, and YAS Marina Hotel. Beyond his design practice, van der Heide has held senior creative and design leadership positions within major lighting organizations, including Philips Lighting and the Zumtobel Group. His approach treats light as an experiential and architectural medium, exploring how technology, material, reflection, shadow, and atmosphere can transform the perception of space.
