Atman was Enzo Catellani’s first experiment with LED lighting, an idea that seemed to come to him almost by chance, or perhaps by magic. The inspiration arose during a journey to India, where he experienced the intense contrasts of a culture filled with both silence and chaos, spirituality and hardship. During this trip, Catellani encountered sacred oval stones, which led him to recreate their form using glass. The name ‘Atman’ is drawn from Sanskrit, meaning “soul.”
