Neural Lighting

Neural Lighting beautifully uses organic forms and neural networks as the main design inspiration. Aesthetically, the design of this lamp displays a balanced combination of natural and mechanical forms. The use of soft and indirect lights that spread from the “neurons” around gives a pleasant and relaxing effect to the space. The curved and complex lines that are seen as nerve branches establish a deep connection with the human nervous system and create a kind of gestalt that reminds the viewer of the complexities of the mind and thinking.

In terms of function and application, the mechanism of using EEG technology (brainwave) to control lighting through mental focus is a very innovative and attractive feature. By combining technology and art, this control method not only adds to the user’s interaction with the environment, but also creates a deep and personal experience of lighting. This active interaction with the surrounding environment can have a wide range of applications, including in public spaces, healthcare centers, or even in homes to create a relaxing and focussing atmosphere.

The main inspiration for this design is clearly taken from the structure of neural neurons, which are symbolically represented. These forms can also be reminiscent of natural patterns such as tree roots or complex plant networks. Such a design can not only have an aesthetic aspect, but also represent a deep connection between humans and nature or even technology.
