At first glance, “Falcons” as a lighting installation appears more like a fluid flow or movement in space than a direct symbol of a falcon. With its curved, dynamic lines and diffused lights, the design creates a sense of movement and flow that might remind the viewer of the wings of birds in flight. But does it really have a clear and profound resemblance to a falcon? Perhaps only in the way it depicts energy and freedom. It is closer to an abstraction of the idea of flight than an exact representation of it.
From a functional point of view, these unique works succeed in creating a focal point and enhancing a space such as a museum or a large lobbies. Its crystal lighting and metallic texture give the space a magnificent look. However, the size and complexity of the structure limit it to a specific space and maintenance of such a work can be difficult and expensive, especially in areas with high dust or humidity. Also, if used in smaller spaces, this lighting is likely to create a sense of overpowering or exaggeration, which creates visual stress rather than tranquility.
The inspiration for these designs comes from the majestic falcon itself, a symbol deeply rooted in Middle Eastern heritage. The closest natural analogy is the interaction of sunlight on the feathers of a falcon in mid-flight, where the light dances across its lines, highlighting its elegance and power.
Ultimately, the “Falcons” collection can be considered an aesthetically successful and impactful work, but its connection to the falcon is more than straightforward and understandable, requiring reflection and personal interpretation. This design is a demonstration of the art of lighting that, inspired by nature, moves beyond the mere representation of a symbol and forces the viewer to think.
